Some of the best parts of collecting are mail days. It’s always exciting to eagerly await the mail man delivering the mail to your house and rifling through the bills and junk mail to hopefully find a few bubble mailers with some hockey cards in them. Both myself and Hockey Girl love our personal collections (or PC’s). Hockey Girl’s PC is all about Tim Thomas and she has quite the impressive collection. Right now my PC revolves around Cam Fowler – the 2nd year American defenseman from the Anaheim Ducks. I have close to 50 or so of his cards. I have always been a big fan of the Ducks since Disney came out with the Mighty Ducks series.
The first card I received this week is from 2011-12 Upper Deck SP Game Used. It is from the Rookie Face-Off Supreme Patches subset, numbered 09/12, and it is an absolutely fantastic patch:
The second card I received this week is a card I’ve been excited to chase after I saw it was on the checklist. It is from 2010-11 Upper Deck The Cup. It is from the Dual Autographed Rookie Bookmarks. It is my very first booklet card. I have wanted a booklet card since I first saw them being released. They just look awesome to me. So to be able to pick up a Cam Fowler booklet card is super exciting. Without further adieu:
So there you have it, the first Mail Day from the Hockey Couple. Hopefully Hockey Girl will have some Tim Thomas mail days to show off for you all soon. What about you? What awesome mail days have you had lately? Let us know in the comments section!
Much love,
Hockey Boy
